LOYAL FRIENDS
Friendship and loyalty: two values that people with four-legged friends are truly familiar with. What a joy to find them waiting for us when we get home after work! When we look into their eyes, we can see how much they have missed us. Their enthusiasm and affection are truly uncontainable and we can see an unwavering certainty in their eyes: they will never let us down. It is no coincidence that one of the most commonly used expressions to refer to pets is “man’s best friend”.
The love that we have for them is so intense that we often consider them actual members of the family. Life with them is more magical, richer, more exciting: it is a journey that makes us grow and improve ourselves, a life journey that enriches us, strengthens us and, at the same time, makes us kinder.

WE HAVE ALWAYS BEEN CRUELTY-FREE
As far back as 1978, when we developed our very first phytocosmetic, we firmly believed in one principle that we have always stuck with: animal testing is a cruel and inadmissible practice.
However, we did not feel as though our simple disdain was enough. For years we have fought alongside the LAV (Lega Anti Vivisezione – Anti-Vivisection Society), which has led us to participate in numerous campaigns to raise awareness. With the LAV, in 1992, we involved thousands of Italian herbalist’ shops and sent more than 20,000 postcards to the European Parliament asking for animal testing to be banned. A battle which, like many others, we finally won in 2004: animal testing of finished products was banned. But, this still left a gap: the possibility of testing raw materials on animals. This was unacceptable to us, also because, since 1998, we have been committed to the International Ban Animal Testing Standard, prepared and shared by the major animal rights associations in the West, both European and American, which requires adhering companies to agree not to use raw materials that have been tested on animals.
And so, yet again, along with many other animals rights’ supporters, we decided to join the LAV in a new battle. A new battle, a new victory. On 11 March 2013, the total ban on testing cosmetics on animals was implemented in the EU.
And so, if animals are our best friends, we can also proudly claim to be their best friends too. Why not reserve a specific line for our loyal friends?
